The Gaiety School of Acting, in partnership with Larkin Community College and supported by Croke Park Community Fund, have launched an immersive theatre production led by students of Larkin Community College for the 1916 Centenary. In March 2016 this once off theatre performance will remember the families of those lost, recreating history in Dublin’s Our Lady of Lourdes Church 100 years on.

The 24 Week project provides an opportunity for students to research, produce and develop a site specific performance piece under the guidance and instruction of professional actors, historians and drama teachers from both partners. Students will learn acting skills, research methods, local history, music, as well as the opportunity to enhance literacy and creativity abilities.

This “hands-on” project concentrates on defining and developing each participant’s potential as actors, storytellers, script writers, directors, producers, costume designers and researchers. The students will work both in the classroom and in the field to gain the technical and creative skills they need to research, envision, produce and direct a theatre performance.

The Project will be officially debuted on Tuesday March 15th in Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Church, Sean McDermott Street at 2.30pm.
