 Shakespeare Sits Back_Dec 2014

It’s been a busy few weeks for our Shakespeare Schools Programme crew!

6 venues, 24 performances and 12 days later, they are finished their nationwide tour, bringing Othello and Romeo & Juliet alive to thousands of secondary school students!

With thanks to examsupport.com, each student received a comprehensive workbook along with the full production of each play and a workshop to help them answer those dreaded questions in the State exams.

“It was such an enjoyable day – my students and I thoroughly loved it. It was fantastic to see the play come alive and I know for the students, it will be a great help to them”

Kate Canning, Programme Coordinator said “It has been so enjoyable bringing Shakespeare to so many students. A huge thank you to everyone that has come along to see us and we cant wait to bring it all back again in the New Year to Smock Alley Theatre”.

There are still some limited space for the Dublin leg of the Shakespeare Schools Programme in Smock Alley Theatre from 19th – 23rd Janaury & again from 2nd – 13th February 2015.

We are also running a Primary Schools Programme for the 10th – 12th February for 2nd – 6th class students. This day will include a 40min performance of a Shakespeare text and a tour of Smock Alley TheatreClick here for more information

So until 2015, as Shakespeare said himself, “The best of rest is sleep” and we think our crew have deserved some!
