Youth Theatre Workshop
Acting for Teens – Age 16-19 years
Term One runs October 3rd to December 12th (no class on 24th October)
This ten week course uses drama as a medium to reflect and respond to young people’s lives, and is also a great way for teens to get back into, or start acting for the first time. Using improvisation, participants learn to explore and enhance their imaginations. The course is both enjoyable and challenging, enabling students to express themselves in a creative and constructive manner.
There will also be specialist skills e.g. dance, singing, creative writing and voice incorporated into the programme. After completion of one term in the Youth Theatre Workshop, students may audition to join our prestigious Youth Theatre Company.
All classes in Temple Bar will take place in the Gaiety School of Acting in Temple Bar or adjoining Smock Alley Theatre. This year we are staggering class times and reducing class numbers to allow for social distancing. To learn more about how the GSA is putting your health and safety first please watch the below short video. Due to the change in class times PLEASE take note of your updated class time, and make sure you book in advance to secure your child’s place.
Participants of Youth Theatre Workshop can expect to:
- Be encouraged to express themselves with clarity through both voice and movement.
- Explore and challenge their ideas and those of others within a creative and friendly environment
- Grow in confidence and explore their creativity
- Experience performing in front of friends and family

A very big thank you to all staff who made my daughter’s week long course at the Gaiety School of Acting an experience that will not be easily forgotten. From the moment we walked through the front door I’ve never met such happy, helpful people … Once again, thank you. Parent of Musical Theatre Camp participant, Temple Bar Summer 2019
