Our class of 2019 present an evening of glamorous decadent entertainment.

Prepare to be shocked, spellbound, confused, astounded and above all, enthralled, as this cabaret rides close to the razor’s edge.

    Fri 26th April and Sat 27th April at 7.30pm - Tickets €10

As part of the final year of training, The Gaiety School of Acting presents an evening of Cabaret Artistique directed by Roger Gregg. In keeping with the historical roots of cabaret in which innovative artists, dancers, musicians, poets banded together to create a stage on which to freely express themselves, this year’s show will include much material written by the students themselves.

What happens when everything you have is lost?

A divided world, sometime in the not so distant future. A ceremony is happening in the woods.
    A celebration of a beginning.
    A celebration of love.

You are invited, even if you are from the city. There are some rules though - no gifts, no phones. Only you.

A night of revelation, collision, suspicion, rekindling, confusion and connection. Below the surface of a seemingly perfect evening, the unknown is waiting to be revealed.

GSA's Class of 2019 present a play written by Fionnuala Gygax and directed by Raymond Keane.

    Lighting Design: Mark Galione
    Set Design: Sabine Dargent

One Year Part-Time is the most challenging part-time training opportunity at the Gaiety School of Acting. Entry is by audition only and each level takes place from October to June, two evenings a week from 7-9pm. Students are welcome to audition for any level of the course, and can complete one level in isolation, or indeed complete the three years in succession. Applications for October entry are open until September 1st 2019.

Performance Year at the Gaiety School of Acting will give you the opportunity to begin to train seriously as an actor, without the commitment of full-time training. Participants get the chance to explore the process of acting in a supportive and structured environment. Students embark on a personal journey that will challenge their perceptions, develop spontaneity, and foster imaginative development, while learning real acting skills.

The Advanced Performance course is aimed at acting students who are committed to further enhancing their skills as a performer. The course maintains a strong emphasis on performance and the presentation of work while focusing on the individual students’ strengths.

Performance Theatre Company provides a practical educational experience in the production of theatre in an ensemble company format. The Performance Theatre Company is designed to nurture new performers and introduce the experience of producing ensemble theatre. The course educates students in a variety of theatre and performance styles.

Further to government guidance and advice, the Gaiety School of Acting will be closed as of 12th March from 6pm until further notice.

This will mean that no classes can go ahead as planned during that time and unfortunately any showcases that were planned within this timeframe will not be able to proceed.

As always, the health and safety of our staff and students remain paramount.

We are contactable on email, and also by phone (between 9am and 4pm) on 016799277.

On Thursday, 23rd April at 2pm GMT (National Shakespeare Day) we invite Leaving Cert students countrywide to join in a YouTube Watch Party of Hamlet at https://www.youtube.com/gaietyschool

Every year the GSA tours to Athlone, Cork and Dublin with their professional production of the Leaving Cert prescribed Shakespeare text, and under the extreme circumstances currently faced by school students, we have decided to make the video of this production available for all students for a limited time only.

We want to see students engaging with the show also, so invite you to ask questions and give feedback throughout the show either via the YouTube comments or on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and/or Snapchat using the hashtag #HamletWatchParty #LoveGSA

The year is 1353, and the setting, an opulent Italian villa. Giovanni Boccaccio’s young men and women of The Decameron distract themselves from the encroaching plague and stave off the boredom of quarantine by weaving tales of terror, triumph and titillation.

A mere 700 years later the Gaiety School of Acting class of 2020, distracting themselves from the encroaching plague and staving off the boredom of quarantine, bring you a reworked, revamped radio version of some of these 14th Century novellas – Decameron Tales.

To be released episodically on Spotify and ACast from November 3rd, this podcast will whisk you into its flamboyant tales of love and subterfuge, before landing you gently in its poetic pillows of heartbreak.

Rewritten and adapted by the GSA class of 2020 and Clare Maguire who also directs and Sound Design, Recording & Mixing by Thomas Donoghue, Decameron Tales is the rollicking riot of colour, fun and escapism that you’re in desperate need of this winter.
