Aidan Turner wins ‘Best Male Newcomer’ at the Empire Awards 2014

Congratulations to GSA Graduate, Aidan Turner, Class of 2004 on winning the ‘Best Male Newcomer’ at the Empire Awards 2014 for his role of Kili in ‘The Hobbit: The Desolation Of Smaug’. Previous winners of this prestigious award include Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot) in 2001, Orlando Bloom (Lord of the Rings) in 2002 and Aaron Johnson (Nowhere Boy) in 2009.

Recently the BBC announced a new adaptation of the ‘Poldark’ series, set for broadcast in 2015 and starring Aidan Turner as Ross Poldark.

Aidan graduated from the Full Time Actor Training Course at the Gaiety School of Acting in 2004. After graduating from The Gaiety School of Acting, Aidan appeared in a number of theatre productions before moving to London to play Mitchell in the BBC series ‘Being Human’.
