The Gaiety School of Acting – The National Theatre School of Ireland in association with TinPot Productions is delighted to present the first blended learning Radio Presentation course in Ireland. This course will take place on Wednesday evenings (7pm-9pm) from 1st October and run for 10 weeks until 3rd December 2014.

We are offering you a TRY FOR FREE taster session on Wednesday 24th September at 7pm in Tinpot Studios (Merrion Street) for those of you who are interested in learning more about what the course entails!

This course will be presented by experienced radio professionals Daryl Moorhouse, Jonathan Healy (Newstalk) and Colm O’Sullivan (Today FM) with Ruth Scott (2FM) as a guest lecturer. In addition to face-to-face bi-monthly classes at TinPot’s Studios on Merrion Square, part of this course will be delivered using the custom built radio training portal: www.tweakel.com which will be accessible via gaietyschool.com. This way students can benefit of the best of both teaching methods; on-line and in studio.

This course will be insightful and industry focused and will give participants the essential skill set to start working in the competitive world of radio. The on-line elements will include a wide range of HD video tutorials as well as interactive activities. Students will be assisted in assessing where their best potential lies in the world of radio presenting and they will have the opportunity to hone those skills over the 10 weeks.

At the end of the term, Newstalk will select one person for a 4-week internship. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work in an exciting environment with a talented and dedicated team of broadcasters and reporters.

Director of The Gaiety School of Acting, Patrick Sutton, is not shy of radio presenting himself. He has frequently appeared as a guest presenter on MindFeed with Norah Casey on NewsTalk 106fm in the past.

Patrick notes ‘Radio presenting is a great skill for people to acquire and I am delighted to be working with TinPot productions on such an innovative and exciting new course’.

He continued ‘The Gaiety School of Acting has already had great success with our 10 week TV presentation course which we run on Monday evenings and I have no doubt this course will attract a similar caliber of student. For almost 30 years, we have been providing the best actor training in the country and those skills can be applied to many different industries, especially within broadcasting and media, so we are delighted to be continually developing and expanding the programmes we offer’.

10-week Radio Presentation courses at the school will also run in Term 2 (14th Jan – 18th March) and Term 3 (15th April – 17th June) alongside a series of one-day weekend masterclasses taking place Sunday 9th November 2014 & Sunday 15th February 2015.
