Girls to play 18 – Grad Film

My name is Nicole Crowley, and I am the casting director for a graduate film called “We’re Going To Kill Each Other” at the National Film School, IADT, Dun Laoghaire. The film will be shot in Dublin early next year from the 19th to the 25th of February.
The gratuity for our main characters Esme and Jackie is €200 + all other expenses covered. We are requesting that you pass this info onto any of your clients that may be interested.
The Logline is as follows:
Esme and Jackie are final-year students at Angsborough College for Disturbed Youths. In a drug-induced vision, Esme foresees terrible suffering in Jackie’s future, and realises the only way to save Jackie is to kill her while she still has the chance.
This abstract dark comedy is a coming-of-age story about the societal pressures on young people. It explores how it can drive them to act against their well-being in today’s age of social media and the contradictory expectations to both conform and stand out.

ESME CHARACTER BIO:
Esme is an 18-year-old girl who seems not to care about anything. She is a student at Angsborough College for Disturbed Youths, for a chequered past regarding arson. Esme has an undeniable air of power around her, and her uninterested attitude often unsettles and intimidates others. The only person in the world she is even slightly vulnerable around is Jackie, her best friend. Esme sees herself as Jackie’s defender, as Jackie’s kleptomaniacal tendencies and hyperactive anxiety often get her into trouble. Esme helps ground Jackie in a way nobody else seems capable of.
JACKIE CHARACTER BIO:
Jackie is an 18-year-old girl who could be best described as a ball of anxieties filled with electricity. She is a student at Angsborough College for Disturbed Youths for her kleptomaniacal tendencies. She is jumpy and chaotic and refuses to stay still for fear of exploding. Every thought is overthought, and she hyper-fixates on the most terrible of possibilities. Esme, Jackie’s nihilist best friend, is often a calming presence and helps keep her in check. However, Jackie fears that without her more outgoing influence, Esme would fall into a depressive and destructive spiral.
MEGHAN CHARACTER BIO:
Meghan is an 18-year-old girl currently enrolled in Angsborough College for Disturbed Youths for her manipulative tendencies, which she has no intention of reforming by the time she graduates. Meghan enjoys twisting others to her will, doing or saying anything to get the right response from those around her. She has her eyes set on Jackie and Esme, two best friends in her year, as her next victims. Jackie is a kleptomaniac who keeps getting her hands on Meghan’s personal belongings, and Esme’s uncaring attitude just rubs Meghan the wrong way.
