1. Did you always want to work in the film/acting business?

Not particularly. I think I wanted to be a vet but I quickly realised that would be too much work.

2. How did you start off in the business?

I did a play in school with John Delaney, a tutor at the Gaiety School of Acting. He encouraged me to audition for the full time course. I did. I got in. So it’s all his fault!!

3. Any tips for aspiring actors/film makers?

Work hard. Be willing to learn. Keep your ears open and your mouth shut. Take it all in and believe in yourself. And get used to the word “no” because you will here it more than “yes”. I think it’s very important to be yourself. Don’t dwell on the setbacks. Keep moving forward. Onwards.

4. What did you like most about being at The Gaiety School of Acting?

I made some of my greatest friends there. I think it matured me a lot as I went in there straight from school. I had some great tutors also. Maureen White was brilliant for me. I’d credit herself and John Delaney with giving me real confidence in my own ability.

5. Favourite actor?

It’s so hard to pick one actor but maybe, Paul Giamatti.

6. Favourite writer?

Tom Murphy. Hands down.

7. Favourite film?

In the Name of the Father.

8. Who has been the most influential person in your life so far?

Probably my Ma and Da. Always pushed me to do what I wanted and are hugely proud and supportive of my career.

9. Earliest memory?

No idea.

10. What would be your idea of the perfect day?

A sunny day in Croke Park. A good win for the Dubs and a load of craic and pints afterwards with the lads.
