The Gaiety School of Acting is honoured to introduce the Class of 2020 Manifesto Showcase
The Manifesto programme is a fundamental part of the Gaiety School of Acting’s Two Year Professional Actor Training course. Over the course of two years the students are introduced to the Manifesto methodology, which gives them the tools in which to write, produce and perform their own work. We understand the value in actors being able to turn their hands to directing, writing, producing, set design, stage management – thus giving them the opportunities for a fully rounded career in theatre. The Manifesto course gives students the confidence to face the world, not only as an actor, but as a theatre maker. Since the course was first introduced, many graduates have gone on to make their own work, staged both nationally and internationally, winning acclaim and awards.
Taught and Directed by Donal Courtney
Donal has been working on the Manifesto Programme for the last five years, and guides the actors in finding their own unique path in theatre making, A writer, director and actor himself, Donal applies these skills in addition to his many decades in the industry to introducing the students to a variety of theatre styles, approaches and subject matter.
We thank Donal and all the tutors who worked with the Class of 2020 over the last two years, for helping them reach the below creative achievements.
