*Paid Role: Male/Female voice actors wanted for
short animation
My name is Peter Symonds and I am currently producing an animated
short film Uisneach: The Hearth of Ireland with Art Director/ Lead
Animator Anna Dottle.
The film focusses on the first archaeological dig of the Irish Free State
on the Hill of Uisneach in 1925.
We envisage that the recording will take no more than half a day – this
will be in Dublin in March (exact place/date TBC)
We are looking for voice actors to fill four roles:

1) Eiru, Goddess of all Ireland
Ethereal, earthy, ageless
Sample Script:
Aill na Mireann, the Stone of Divisions, where Kings pledged their
allegiance to the people and the land.

(beat)

Some say it is here that I, Eiru, goddess of all Ireland, lie entombed.

2) Mr. Robert Praeger, 50’s, well-educated Irish botanist/
author born and raised in Holywood, County Down of dutch
heritage
Jaunty, dreamy, heartfelt
Sample Script:
All that charcoal…Seven years ablaze… Imagine the fire and the
feasting!

I’ve heard it said that an Irishman who has not stood on Uisneach has
not seen his own country.

3) Mr. RA Macalister, 50’s, well-educated Irish archaeologist from
Dublin, educated in England
Doughty, professional, sure of himself
Sample Script:
You can nearly see all of it from here.
(beat)
I’d say I can recognize the landmarks of twenty counties from this hill.

(absent mindedly) I say a man who has not dug where he stands has
not seen his own country.

4) Miss Eileen Barnes, 50, educated artist, born and raised around
Parnell street, Dublin.
Considered, intuitive, precise

It truly is the heart of Ireland.
(beat)

You only have to listen to the wind and touch the stones to know there’s
more here than ash and bones.

Email an mp3 file of the sample script readings to me at
petersymonds12@gmail.com with Uisneach/role you are reading for
(Eiru/Praeger/Macalister/Barnes) in the subject bar no later than
midnight on Sunday 8 th March.
If you read for more than one role please send them in separate emails.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
