Role: Vihaan – Male 30 (Indian or South Asian)
Location: Dublin
Complicit is a short student grad film in Colaiste Dhulaigh
accredited by The University of Wolverhampton. This short film
is a contemporary political film on the rise of racism in Ireland
specifically targeting Indian and south Asian
immigrants overall. This film will commence shooting in early
2026.
Logline: After his friends assault an immigrant, Sean is left
grappling with his silence and failure to stop the act, returning
to the scene he learns that his silence hurts as deeply as the
violence itself.
Vihaan
Vihaan is a character that immigrated to Ireland under the
pretence that the country was one of acceptance due to the
history of colonialism and emigration. After experiencing an
assault first hand from a group of boys he is approached by
one of the boys who was an onlooker and failed to stop his
friends, looking for forgiveness without revealing his Identity.
Vihaan is unforgiving and reprimands him for his inaction and
complicity. The role of Vihaan is active not passive, requiring a
fiery will to speak out on the rise of hatred in Ireland.
