Character Briefs
● Maeve (early 30s) Calm and composed, she carries the weight of
responsibility for her mother and family. Her resilience masks
vulnerability, and she struggles to balance duty with buried pain.
● Nora (late 30s) A bohemian artist, outspoken and
uncompromising, she refuses to conform to family expectations.
Her anger at her father’s past violence drives her defiance and
emotional distance.
● Jane (60s) A dignified mother coping with sudden loss, she clings
to tradition and family unity. Her nurturing nature often slips into
control as she pushes her daughters to stand together.
● Rita (60s) Peter’s sister, sharp‑tongued and protective of family
pride, she grieves through criticism. Her bluntness exposes the
fractures in the family and her impatience with Nora’s absence.
