Erasmus Plus Funded Project CREA.T.Y.V.
Creative Drama for Training Young Volunteers in Intergenerational Learning Environments.
The CREA.T.Y.V. project uses creative drama to focus on empowering disadvantaged young people to actively participate in communities. The aim of the project is to build the skills of these young people under the mentorship of older people in the volunteering field. In this way, the participants will have the opportunity to become involved in changing aspects of society and building their future. The project methodology is based on Intergenerational learning and creative drama.
The partnership is made of four NGOs from Ireland, Italy and Romania and agency in Czech Republic. The Gaiety School of Acting as the creative partner will develop non-formal training for young people (18-25 years old) from Romania, Italy and Czech Republic.
The project will target youth belonging to socially disadvantaged environments which are supported by local social and youth services from Romania, Italy and Czech Republic. In Ireland, The Gaiety School of Acting will partner with Sherrard Street Youthreach Centre and Age Action. The Tutors of The Gaiety School of Acting : Seamus Quinn and Caroline Coffey and Outreach Coordinator Dr Anna Kadzik-Bartoszewska will oversee the research and development of the training .
THE PROJECT OUTPUTS WILL INCLUDE:
- An overview on intergenerational volunteering in the country involved
- An intergenerational training program based on creative drama
- A guide for young people for developing their skills and values through the means of volunteering Policy recommendations for supporting youth volunteering through non-formal education in intergenerational contexts throughout Europe
- The film “Youth Voice in Intergenerational Volunteering”
