Voice Actor Casting for Videogame Project

We are making a student videogame for our final project as part of our
Multimedia course at DCU. We are looking to run auditions on the DCU
Glasnevin campus on the 1st of March, specific location and time to be
confirmed. Recording for the project will take place on the DCU Glasnevin
campus on the 9th of March where voice actors will meet my team. This would
take place within the next month and in total would likely take 1 day but

possibly 2 days of in-person recording.
This is an unpaid student project but actors will receive:

Game credit
Audio/Game edits for showreels
Free copy of the videogame upon completion of the project.

The following is information on the specific characters themselves and what we
are specifically looking for in voice actors for this videogame project:

Synopsis of the project:
B.R.E.A.C.H places the player inside an optimisation-driven society where
control is exercised not through force, but through convenience, automation,
and algorithmic guidance. The player assumes the role of a data analyst
navigating environments shaped by surveillance systems, AI assistants, and
hyper-personalised digital interfaces.

 

Data Analyst’s Mother (Supporting Role)

Background:

She does not feature heavily in the story, however, she does carry a strong
importance with our main character who holds her memory dearly since she
passed away 5 years before the events of the game. She is a single mother
who raised her son alone due to the premature death of her husband before
Edward’s birth. She is working class and fought hard to give Edward a proper
upbringing, she sacrificed a lot for him.

Her voice will appear through real voice recordings and moments where ELI
mimics the protagonist’s mother’s voice to manipulate him. She will have the
voice of a 40 year old.

What we need in a voice actor:

Female voice actor (18+)
Ability to portray a mature voice
Neutral voice/accent
Slightly tired but not weak
Calm and reassuring
Detailed
Caring and loving without sounding soft
Emotionally controlled
