Ticks – Short Film

We are currently casting this independent short drama, two roles listed
below. Auditions and rehearsals will take place in Dublin. Shoot days will
be confirmed following the casting process.
Logline: A will they-won’t they between two straight men
Synopsis: Estranged friends are forced to reassess their friendship after an
awkward encounter during a hike
Shane (18-22)
Core Trait: A lad trapped by insecurity and traditional masculinity,
struggling to connect or be vulnerable.
Physicality: Sportswear, hunched, closed-off body language with a watchful,
tense energy.
Vocal: Strong Dublin accent; speech is in short, defensive bursts.
Key Range: Must portray simmering internal panic and a final, subtle
softening.
Gearóid (18-22)
Core Trait: The stable, emotionally intelligent anchor who patiently tries to
connect with his former friend.
Physicality: More put-together and practical; carries an open, calm, and
grounded presence.
Vocal: Softer, country-lilting speech pattern.
Key Range: Must balance genuine care with quiet hurt, culminating in silent,
graceful forgiveness.
