Take Your Place in the Director’s Chair
Description
Have you ever watched a play or film and wondered how the director brings the whole story together?
Director’s Camp offers aspiring young theatre-makers the opportunity to explore the creative process from a director’s point of view. Participants will learn how to develop an idea, interpret a scene, communicate with actors and make clear creative choices about character, movement, space and storytelling.
Through practical exercises and collaborative workshops, students will gain experience directing performers and bringing scenes from the page to life. They will explore how directors shape a production, lead a rehearsal room and communicate their vision to a creative team.
This camp is ideal for young people interested in directing, acting, writing or the wider world of theatre-making. No previous directing experience is required, but participants should arrive ready to collaborate, experiment and share their ideas.
