The National Television Awards took place in London on the 20th of January and while Aidan-Turner-2016-Style-Dunhill-British-National-Television-Awards-002-800x1170Gaiety School eyes were firmly on the screen with Aidan Turner being nominated for Best Drama Performance, the class of 2004 graduate
walked away with an entirely different, and entirely unexpected gong – that of Best Impact Moment.

Aidan may have already begun filming series two of the crazily popular BBC drama Poldark, but the general public are clearly still feeling the impact of his shirtless appearance in season one – with the Impact Moment award attributed to this particular scene.

Turner’s star is on the rise far beyond the realm of this particular BBC period drama, with his tuxedoed yuletide turn in Agatha Christie’s And Then There None, sparking talk of the possibility of a new Irish James Bond on the horizon.

We’ll be over here waiting with baited breath!
