Kildare Young Filmmakers are now hosting auditions for the role of Mam, a pivotal and transformative character in their new production Smokescreen. The role is a paid position. KYF’s Recent accolades include Best Acting & Audience Choice Noise Flicks Festival 2015, Best Director & Best Group Film Noise Flicks Festival 2016 and an Honorable Commendation from Berlin REC International Film Festival 2016.Auditions:
Time: 7.30 – 9.00pm
Date: Thursday 27th October
Place: Platform 4, Leixlip Library, Kildare
Travel: Accessible by 66A bus or train to Leixlip Confey
Rehearsal: Tuesday 1st November
Filming: Thursday 3rd, Friday 4th and Saturday 5th November

Character:
Mam: A 30-something year old A single mother and alcoholic. Detests Elliot and his relationship with her son Luke, using their sexual orientation as a reason. The true reason for her bitterness is that she is secretly hurt and jealous by the fact that Elliot and Luke share a bond that she could never create with Luke. A complex character with a massive transformation at the end of the film.
