Casting Call for Doireann Langford’s An Dara Réalt

Auditions
An Taidhbhearc – Amharclann Naisiúnta na Gaeilge will hold auditions for their Irish language Pantomime An Dara Réalt by Doireann Langford, on TUESDAY 5th and WEDNESDAY 6th November between 12-4pm in AN TAIDHBHEARC (19 Middle Street), in Galway. All actors must have Fluent Irish. Auditionees will be asked to sing a section of any English song of their choice, as well as a section of an Irish Language song of their choice.
Actors will also be asked to perform a section of the pantomime. It will be helpful if the actor has a base in Galway, as rehearsals will be held in the Taidhbhearc

If you are unavailable for the audition days in question, we will accept Self- Tapes until and no later than 12pm Wednesday November 6th.
Rehearsal Dates: 18th November- 6th December 2019
Show Dates: 7th – 21st December 2019
Payment: €650 pw for Rehearsals, €750 Performance pw

PETER PAN- (Male or Female)
25-35 Bliain d’aois
Peter Pan ach é fásta aníos. Fear atá ró-ghnóthnach chun súgradh lena iníon, i gcónaí ar an fón-póca. Roimh? dheireadh an tseó, foghlamaíonn sé conas is féidir eitilt agus spraoi arís (Robin Williams – Hook). Aisteoir grinn ag teastáil, atá in ann canadh agus damhsa. Bheadh sé ina bhuntáiste dá mbeadh taithí aisteoireacht fisiceacha acu.
25-35 years
Peter Pan having grown up. He is too busy to play with his daughter. Constantly preoccupied with his phone. By the end of the show he has learned how to fly and have fun again (Robin Williams – Hook). Must be able to sing and dance. Physical theatre experience a bonus.
HOOK ( Male or Female)
25-50 Bliain d’aois
Cladhaire na geamaireachta. Fear mórchúiseach, tá sé mór as a áilleacht. (Dustin Hoffman- Hook). Aisteoir grinn ag teastáil, atá in ann canadh agus damhsa. Bheadh sé ina bhuntáiste dá mbeadh taithí aisteoireacht fisiceacha acu.
25-50 years
The Villain of the Pantomime. Pompous and vain. (Dustin Hoffman- Hook). Must be able to sing and dance. Physical theatre experience a bonus.
SMAOIS (Male or Female)
25-50 Bliain d’aois
Giolla Hook. Amaideach agus truamhéileach. Déanann sé smaois mór salach agus é faoi strús. Greannmhar agus seafoideach (Bob Hoskins – Hook) Aisteoir grinn ag teastáil, atá in ann canadh agus damhsa. Bheadh sé ina bhuntáiste dá mbeadh taithí aisteoireacht fisiceacha acu.
25-50 years
Hook’s right hand man. Foolish and pathetic. He sneezes when stressed. Funny and silly (Bob Hoskins- Hook). Must be able to sing and dance. Physical theatre experience a bonus.
TINK (Male or Female)
20-35 Bliain d’aois
Carachtar láidir, beomhar agus ceanndána, abhairín garbh. Ní gnáth-Tink (traidisiúnta) atá i gceist léi. Níl uirthi a bheith tanaí nó beag . Lán de ghreann. Aisteoir grinn ag teastáil, atá in ann canadh agus damhsa. Bheadh sé ina bhuntáiste dá mbeadh taithí aisteoireacht fisiceacha acu.
20- 35 years
A strong energetic stubborn character, who is rough around the edges. We are not necessarily looking for the traditional Tink of Peter Pan. Full of humour. Must be able to sing and dance. Physical theatre experience a bonus.
