An Advanced Level of Part-Time Training
Monday & Wednesday 7.30pm-9.30pm or Tuesday & Thursday 7.30pm-9.30pm
GSA Stage is an advanced actor training course for adult actors who have completed some prior actor training. If you are searching for a greater challenge, this is the course for you. This course takes place two evenings a week and builds on existing acting skills, while introducing students to a variety of specific performance skills. Entry to the course is audition only. The audition panel will assess the auditionee’s skill and suitability. Once successful, students will be expected to commit to all three terms.
This course will present students with the opportunity to challenge themselves further. By introducing the group to more complex texts and acting methods, the tutor will take these actors to the next level. Each group will work with a specific tutor throughout the three terms, while guest tutors will teach masterclasses over the course of the year. Additional seminars/webinars featuring leading industry professionals will add to the richness of the learning experience.
Due to smaller classes, we have a strictly limited capacity, thus all classes are now audition only
The class will be introduced to new plays every term, which will allow each actor to develop scenework in a variety of genres. Tutors will select plays and scenes to suit the needs and strengths of the group. This will give each individual the opportunity to further flex their diversity as an actor, while building on their existing skills. The course will include regular masterclasses which will include introductions to other performance and theatre skill. An example of the type of masterclasses are: musical theatre, stand-up comedy, accent, directing and set design.
Seminars/webinars will include talks from industry professionals such as actors, directors, casting directors and producers.
The course will take place in the Gaiety School of Acting in Temple Bar. Classes may be moved to an online platform if the need for social distancing arises.
