Hollywood star & GSA Graduate, Olivia Wilde, cast in thriller ‘Meadowland’

Former House star Olivia Wilde has been cast in psychological thriller ‘Meadowland’. The actress will also produce the film, which is being directed by first-timer Reed Morano.

Wilde will star as a mother who has lost her son. She begins on the path to acceptance when she turns her attention to a neglected young boy. Morano has served as cinematographer on films including Kill Your DarlingsFrozen River and The Skeleton Twins and makes his directing debut with Meadowland when it begins shooting in New York in July.

Olivia Wilde trained at The Gaiety School of Acting Summer School as a Young Person. The daughter of Irish-American’s, her family returned to Ireland frequently and Olivia was given the opportunity to study her craft at the school while based in Dublin. She has spoken previously about the impact spending time at the Gaiety School has had on her career. 

‘It was important for me to maintain a connection with my Irish roots…I have always loved Beckett, Friel and O’Casey and I wanted to spend time learning about these people from people who understand them’.
